Lough Errill is a 62 acre lake with a good stock of Tench, Roach and Hybrids, writes Martin Branagan.
The lake is best fished on dull days as the water is often very clear. The lake tends to weed up quite badly during the summer months with a lot of reed in the margins.
It is a shallow lake with only 4 to 5 feet of water. It has a very good stock of Tench to 6lbs but anglers claim they are difficult to locate and catch.
The lake has an access road and car parking area. There’s a purpose built disabled fishing stand at the car park.
To access deeper water it is necessary to cross a few fields to the left of the car park where you will locate two regular double fishing stands.
The lake is located on the R201, Carrick-on-Shannon to Mohill Road
