Lough McHugh is situated just outside the village of Eslin. The entrance is opposite to the local GAA pitch.
The lake covers 90 acres, with fishing to the left of the island where the water is approximately 10 foot deep.
A feeder works well here and there are good swims of roach, rudd and perch. Good quality tench and pike can be found here too.
Lough McHugh is a delight for the family angler with a safe and secure car park and lots of nice grassy banks.
There is a profusion of wild life on and around this beautiful lake – it’s the sort of venue where the fishing can be secondary to the surroundings.
A big shout out to #DavidMcNabola for the photo.
