Kiltyclogher Heritage Centre is located in the Court House in the centre of Kiltyclogher, Co Leitrim. It was officially opened in November 2015, writes Martin Branagan.
The Heritage Centre is open from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, Monday to Friday all year round and staff are delighted to take bookings for tours of the Centre or the Sean Mac Diarmada Cottage within this time frame. Tours take approximately one hour. Last tour 3.00pm.
Staff are happy to facilitate larger tours such as schools, community groups or workplace tours.
The Heritage Centre houses an exhibition about the 1916 Proclamation signatory Seán MacDiarmada.
The exhibition contains an audio-visual facility and interpretive panels, providing visitors with information about Seán MacDiarmada and the history of the locality.
There’s also a detailed timeline of Seán’s life and events surrounding the 1916 rising.
Staff welcome vistits all year round and the premises is wheelchair accessible.
