Drumshanbo Lock, situated at the southern end of Lough Allen is a a double-acting lock and canwork whether the level of the lake is below or above that of the canal, writes Martin Branagan.
It has moorings, water, light, a shower and toilet block, a lock-keeper’s office, a pump out and bins.
There’s ample car parking and a lovely picnic area beside the Lock and some super view of the Lake
It’s about a 15 minute walk from Drumshanbo, depending on fast you walk of course.
